Anaïs Boileau is a French photographer born in 1992 in Nîmes. She graduated from ECAL, the public art school of Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2015. Boileau worked with the photographer Charles Freger while completing her studies. Her series Plein Soleil was included in the Black Mirror exhibition organized by Aperture Foundation, Photo Kathmandu festival in Nepal, and the Arles festival. She matriculated at Central Saint Martins, London, in 2017 with plans to earn a master’s degree.
Nava is publishing photographs from the Plein Soleil ("Full of Sun") series. Latin architecture and women intent on being exposed to the sun with seemingly no other priorities are the two main subjects in the photographs from the series. All of the work was made in the South of France around 2014. Boileau presents us with a distinct sense of place via the architecture and portraits.
