Chad Alexander’s practice revolves around themes related to home, social fracture and conflict. Alexander explores the confined spaces and architecture of confinement that exist in many parts of Belfast. His work gives a sense of the past whilst exploring contemporary issues that Northern Ireland faces.
Nava is publishing photographs from Entries. Entries is a journey into the spaces and homes of some of the individuals who live in areas that witnessed significant violence during the conflict in Northern Ireland and in some respects have stagnated. Showing the complexities of the lives there, the beauty amidst the brutal and the tender amidst the tough. The contingency of community’s wellbeing, in relation to circumstances beyond their control, life’s lottery.
